Mental Liberation Ensemble

Mental Liberation Ensemble groups together several musicians from the current Portuguese scene for regular gatherings featuring a guest participant. 

While using improvisation as its main strategy, MLE's vocabulary encompasses numerous forms and contexts, from polyrhythmic complexity to harsh electronic textures to psychedelic keyboard timbres, in the process staying away from any specific improvised music style or idiom.

Guest participants so far have included German multi-instrumentalist Alfred 23 Harth, Portuguese improvising violinist Carlos Zíngaro and electronic magus Rafael Toral.
