This new project from the duo HHY & SPASTIC DEMENTIA takes on doom/death metal, siren clusters and dub strategies in a long, punishing descent onto an abyss of sonic horror and shrieked vocals.

Spastic Dementia - Alias of argentinean drummer and vocalist Marcelo Aguirre, consisting in a smashing drumset and howling voices, in an extremely intense and eerie evocation of an grinding/pulse/doom. Besides playing solo he has/keeps working with composers/improvisers such as: John Duncan, Steffen Basho-Junghans, John Hegre, Timo van Luijk, Z'EV and Ulrich Krieger. His involvement on various intermedia projects include live improv with Anna Barth's Butoh dance performances; the cut-up quartet Val Afumo alongside visual/performance artists Peter Morrens, Juha Valkeapää and musician Andréas Fulgosi providing music to avantgarde cinema.

HHY - The main alias for multi-specter instrumentalist and producer Jonathan Uliel Saldanha, and it represents his Skull-Cave Dub strategies, for the evocation of the ecstatic and the ominous. Founder of the Soopa Label/Collective, member of the Mecanosphere bureau, he is an axis of the Sci-fi Voodoo band HHY & The Macumbas wile maintaining ongoing collaborations with Raz Mesinai (a.k.a. Badawi), Scott Nydegger (U.S.S.) and Nyko Ripit (Fujako, Wordsound). Under his own name, he has also created several soundtracks based on induced mental cosmologies and ensemble composition strategies.
